Ativan, known by its generic name of Lorazepam, is used to treat anxiety in patients. It is a drug within a class of drugs called Benzodiazepines. Well known drugs within this family include Valium and Xanax. These medications are commonly referred to as tranquilizers. They work by calming the brain and slow its activity, thus allowing the person to relax. They also relax muscles and provide sedation.
The problem with Benzodiazepines is that they can be highly addictive and are frequently abused. Hospitals see overdoses frequently because overdosing often causes more sedation. However, overdosing can to serious illness or even death, especially when combined with other drugs or alcohol. Ativan has both a physiological and psychological component in its addiction, making the person want more.
If you are addicted to Ativan, your next pill could be your last. According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), there were nearly 15,000 deaths yearly in the United States from prescription drug overdoses. Of the prescription drugs most commonly abused, Opioids, Benzodiazepines, and Amphetamine-like medications are the top three.
If you’re addicted to Ativan, chances are you’ve seen your bank account dwindle. You’ve had to hide your addiction from your spouse, your parents, or other loved ones. You’re doing poorly in your job, or maybe you’ve lost it. If you’re in school, maybe your grades are dropping, or have hit rock bottom. Maybe you’ve been arrested for drug abuse. But all you’ve been concerned about is getting the next fix.
The light at the end of the Ativan tunnel is a train wreck. Unless you want to continue to experience that train wreck, you need to get free of it now. Maybe you’ve tried to go “cold turkey” off of Ativan, only to find yourself dealing with horrible withdrawal symptoms. Or maybe you were afraid of the potential withdrawal symptoms and you’ve made excuses for why you don’t want to be off Ativan. The reality is you aren’t in control of your life; Ativan is in control of you.
But you can end the Ativan madness with rehab. In rehab, you can safely detox with minimal discomfort and learn ways to end your reliance on Ativan for good. Here at Cliffside Malibu, we work on finding out what drives you to seek Ativan as your refuge and work toward establishing healthy ways of coping with stress.
Choosing a Ativan Rehab Center
Not all rehab centers are the same.
You’re an individual who is unique. Your problems are unique to you. That’s why it’s important to have an individualized treatment plan. Everyone is different, and if we treated you the same way as another person, the chance of you overcoming your dependency would decrease rapidly. You need individual care from people who truly care about your welfare. That’s why you need to be choosy about where you go when you go for rehab.
The Ativan Rehab Process
At Cliffside Malibu, we understand your needs. From the moment when you make the first call, we welcome you. Our staff truly cares about your comfort and welfare. When you arrive, you’ll think you’ve arrived at a luxury spa instead of a rehab center. Your room will make you feel at home and will surround you with security and comfort.
We have a program which will work toward getting you cured of your dependency to Ativan forever. We start with detox, which doesn’t have to be an ordeal. In it, your body gets rid of all the toxins and poisons that have caused your body to rely on Ativan. Once you are out of detox, we help you by starting you on therapy with a psychotherapist we have chosen whose skills fits your needs exactly. Together you will discover the underlying cause of your addiction and the therapist will teach you ways of coping with the problems that caused your addiction in the first place.
But our amenities and programs don’t stop there. We have a private beach, quiet gardens, pool, walking and hiking trails, and a gorgeous ocean view that is refreshing to wake up to every morning. We feed you exceptional nutrition so your body can heal from the damage done by your addiction. You may have yoga training, massage, acupuncture, equine therapy, meditation, and fitness instruction.
Success in Ativan Rehab
Your success in Ativan rehab largely depends on the program you choose. You can choose a program that cuts corners only to end up in rehab again, or you can come to Cliffside Malibu where we work hard to secure your success. We work on your addiction using proven methods to rid you of your addiction once and for all. You’re among friends here. We want you to succeed and live your life drug-free — the way you were meant to live.
